Santa Fe will be Celebrating National Plug in Day as part of a larger community event. Positive Energy Solar, along with several local businesses and community partners, are planning an ambitious project to revitalize and re-envision the St. Michael's Corridor in Santa Fe. The project, RE:ENERGIZE - Path to a Sustainable Energy Network, is part of a larger interactive community event entitled RE-MIKE which will take place on September 22 and 23. RE:ENERGIZE invites the community to engage with the many aspects of energy efficiency and renewable energy, including tools and techniques available now, systems coming soon, and visions for Santa Fe’s energy future. An “Energy Village” set up at the Village Shopping Center at 1628 St. Michael’s Dr. will have information on models of efficient design, energy generation, consumer financing, electric vehicles and job opportunities. People will experience and learn through these features at the Village: • a pop-up renewable energy system powering the event; • a portable PV powered electric vehicle level II charging station; • a large solar oven about 10 ft high and 8 ft in diameter; • a smart home simulation space; and • depictions of neighborhood energy network designs and principles. One of the many highlights of the event will be an electric vehicle, E-bikes, human powered anything, and a walking parade, which will take place on September 23rd starting from the village at 11:30. The parade will be the first official one of it's kind in New Mexico. .
